Football's funniest family duo, Jason Kelce, who just retired from the Philadelphia Eagles, and Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, have made names for themselves off the field, and not just because of Travis' relationship with Taylor Swift. It's thanks to their hugely successful podcast, New Heights. From entertaining stories to engaging conversations with each other as well as occasional guests, every episode of the Kelce Brothers' podcast is enjoyable, but with over 80 episodes, which are the best? Here are our picks for the 10 best New Heights podcast episodes of all time.
Arnold Schwarzenegger - Episode 84
The brothers recently had a fascinating chat with Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The bodybuilder-turned-actor-turned politician reflects on his career, discusses how he got his start, speaks about his rivalry with Sylvester Stallone, and details his love of football. Hear Arnold's humorous anecdotes, thought-provoking insights and valuable advice on staying active and finding purpose in retirement.
The Beginning - Episode 1
To really understand how far New Heights has come, you have to start from the beginning. In the first episode of the podcast, Jason and Travis share fun stories from their rookie years, debate who has a more epic Super Bowl ring, and look ahead to the upcoming 2022-2023 football season, which Jason questions if it will be his last.
Patrick Mahomes - Episode 15
Football fans got a treat when Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and now five-time Pro Bowler Patrick Mahomes appeared on the podcast. In a gripping conversation, Pat relates an insane story about crushing his draft interview with coach Andy Reid. He also reminisces about the legendary first meeting that brought about his bromance with Travis. Mahomes goes on to share a never-before-heard backstory about how he essentially drafted himself in 2017. He even opens up about superstitions, rivalries with other QBs and who is on his QB Mount Rushmore.
Super Bowl Reactions - Episode 28
Just a few months after starting their podcast, Jason and Travis wound up playing each other in Super Bowl 57, and their recap of that incredible game became one of their most memorable episodes. While sports fans were treated with thoughtful insights on the plays that happened during the game, the most compelling parts came when the pair explained what they felt as the National Anthem was sung, when they saw their mom on the Jumbotron and when they were with family on the field after the game.
Chris Jones - Episode 56
Probably one of the funniest episodes of the podcast, if not the most hysterical one, is when Chiefs defensive tackle Chris "Stone Cold" Jones guested. Along with lots of intriguing football talk, other discussions included a hilarious recollection of his famous wardrobe malfunction at the NFL Combine, his brutally honest first impression of Travis, and a revealing round of "We Gotta Ask But You Don't Have To Answer" where Chris goes into his Twitter beef with Tyreek Hill.
Twilight - Episode 44
If you are a fan of the Twilight series, you might not want to listen to episode 44. In it, Jason explains why he had a mohawk in college and Travis discusses throwing a first pitch at a Kansas City Royals game, but the real nugget comes about halfway through the episode, when Jason breaks down his thoughts on Twilight in a brutal review. According to Jason, "It's absolutely terrible," noting, "It starts out like all these teenage love stories do, you know, high school girl falls in love with a 109-year-old vampire who still looks like an 18-year-old and nobody asks questions about that." When Travis asks Jason if he is Team Edward or Team Jacob, Jason responds, "I'm Team This Movie Shouldn't Exist." The takedown was so rough that Taylor Lautner, who starred as "Jacob" in the Twilight films, later commented about the episode "#teamtravis."
Mom And Dad Kelce - Episode 26
To truly understand Jason and Travis, you have to understand where they come from, which is why episode 26 is so important since it features their parents, Donna and Ed Kelce. Donna reveals if she wanted a daughter, what it was like for her to raise the pair, what it's like to a parent to NFL players and if their grandfather committed treason. Then Ed shares memories about coaching the brothers when they were younger, how pizza rolls played an important part in their lives, his favorite story of household destruction and, most interesting, the correct way to pronounce Kelce.
SNL - Episode 29
Travis actually hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live and in this episode, he reveals not only what it was like, but what happens behind-the-scenes that fans of the show might not know about. In an eye-opening chat, he discusses the experience, his favorite sketch, who the unsung hero of the week at the show was, and what time he got home from the SNL afterparty.
Seeing Taylor Swift - Episodes 50 and 55
The 50th episode of New Heights seems like any other episodes, with Jason talking about the one Madden rating that still makes him mad and a discussion over how rookies get treated at training camp, but where it becomes historic is when Jason asks Travis if he's seen any concerts lately. That prompts Travis to gush over Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, calling it "unbelievable." He also laments not being able to hand her a bracelet he made for her that had his phone number on it, joking that he was "a little butthurt" over it. A couple months later though, Taylor showed up to the Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears and left the arena with Travis, sparking dating rumors. He addressed it on episode 55 saying, "Shout out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy... She looked amazing." As we all know now, the two are now a couple.
Kylie Kelce - Episode 52
One of the most listened to episodes ever of New Heights isn't because of Jason or Travis, rather for another Kelce, Jason's wife, Kylie. Fans had been asking to hear from the field hockey coaching mother of three and were rewarded when she guested on episode 52. Kylie divulges the wild backstory to how Jason proposed, reveals how she almost gave birth at the Super Bowl and gives her true opinions on Jason's Tinder profile and the New Heights podcast.
Whether you’re a fan of football, pop culture, or simply curious about the Kelce Brothers, these episodes offer a glimpse into the multifaceted world of New Heights. So grab your headphones, settle in, and explore the best that Jason and Travis' podcast has to offer.
