The Carolina Panthers are, once again, beefing up their coaching staff for 2023.

Carolina’s latest move: the addition of former Colts and Lions head coach Jim Caldwell as senior assistant to new head coach Frank Reich, per the team’s website.

Caldwell, 68, brings a wealth of experience to an already experienced staff. The former Wake Forest head coach won a Super Bowl as assistant head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 2006, helping to guide Payton Manning to the first of his two championships.

In 2009, Caldwell took over the Colts as head coach for Tony Dungy, leading Indianapolis to another AFC Championship in his first season.

The Panthers have now added two former head coaches to Reich’s staff: Caldwell and former Panthers and Texans head coach Dom Capers, who re-unites with the Panthers as a senior defensive assistant.
