NBA All-Star Weekend is in the rearview window and it isn’t getting the reception they’d hoped for. Covino & Rich are in for Dan Patrick today and they try to figure out exactly what is wrong with the NBA. The gimmicks don’t seem to be working and shortening the season is off the table so Rich is convinced they simply need another true innovator to come along and change the game.
Steve Covino: “When the stars of the league aren’t hyped about it, it’s impossible for you to be hyped about it.”
Rich Davis: “Maybe we just need to see someone do something no one’s done...Now we see guys hitting half-court shots, we see guys, you know, reverse dunking and doing everything. Do we need something else? Maybe that’s it.”
